San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSC-R or Bas-te) did not get the championship crown against University of Sto. Tomas (UST) at the 6th season of the Shakeys V-League last 16 June 2009. BUT! The team got the Best Scorer by Jaroensri, Baulee (#7) their guest player from Thailand, Best Attacker by Latigay (#11), Laurence Ann and Best Receiver Pepito, Margarita (#8).Even they lost, I believe that SSC-R is still the strongest collegiate volleyball team in the Philippines.
